Brooklyn Head Shot Photographer/ Edward R. Murrow High School Musical Theater Production

Spent some time doing head shots for the talented kids at Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn.....they'll be used on the lobby board for the upcoming show "The Wizard of Oz".... done in the "Pop Up" style, meaning I shoot a few frames on each subject on location, and we pick one shot on the spot! Very little time to "nail it" as they say.....so here are a few of them, in no particular order.  How do you think I did????? Can you guess who is playing Dorothy? Hint: it's one of the young women... ; )

Brooklyn Head Shot Photographer Sees Head Shot Client on Project Runway

So happy and excited to see my precious head shot client modeling on "Project Runway" tonight..... we heard about her being on the show in the summer but it was hush-hush and details were few. Well we saw the whole drama unfold tonight on Lifetime Network and it was AWESOME! Her modeling was stellar, bringing the beautiful clothing to life. It was a children's wear challenge inspired by the American Girl Doll line, with a few clunkers in the mix, but of course- it turned out that my client was modeling the winning design!!!! Congratulations!!!! Here are a few frames from our 10-minute shoot. Do you think she has it or what? Here's the link to the recap of the episode....Enjoy!!

Brooklyn Kid's Head Shot Photographer for Narrows Community Theater

What can I say? I had a beautiful summer with my kids participating in Narrows Community Theater's production of "Shrek the Musical". We were honored to have the director Jason Gotay who only a few short months ago we watched perform as Peter Parker in "Spiderman" on Broadway! The choreography was excellent, costumes were outstanding, the sets were beautiful, and the kids.....well, what do you think?

Brooklyn Communion Portrait Photographer Announces 2014 Communion Special

Here we are.......I'm feeling it.........the longest winter in history coming to a close. That can only mean that my favorite shooting season is upon us! If you follow me, you know that there are few things photographic that come before my joy in creating communion portraits. The sweet innocence of the age, the earnest focus on goodness, the formal wear and fuss....... there is nothing I find more endearing than these kids at this time of their lives. It is the essence of childhood. This year, I am offering a 1/2 hour shoot on location, including shooting fee and 10 print ready, basic retouched, high resolution files- for $150. Please call me as soon as you can for all of the details on booking this very special shoot.    347-782-2734

Brooklyn Head Shot Photographer .....More Head Shots!

Here's a recent round of head shots- done as a "Pop-Up" session for a local community theater group. The way it works is that I block off an hour or so of time at a designated location where I know the light patterns. Everyone gets a super-mini session (I am shooting about 10-15 frames), and then, on the spot, we pick the best one. I go back and do all the post work, then email the finished shot (with basic retouching and enhancements) in high resolution to the subject!! One, two, three....DONE! It's not perfect, and doesn't allow for much warming up or additional set-ups, but it IS a great way to get a quick head shot done and get YOU in the market. It's also a chance to work with me to see if we are a good match for a more comprehensive session, if that is what you really need. Sign on to facebook and "Like" Mijola Photography if you'd like to be kept posted for sessions like these. I love doing them, and it's beyond budget-friendly. I'll do them when I can fit them into my schedule, and it's going to be on short notice, so stay tuned! I'm thinking of doing one for a family holiday card photo....if there's interest......give me a shout here or on facebook if you are.......
